Imran Rehabilitation Center

Located in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, this rehab center is a 1042 sq.yds building which hosts cerebral palsy patients. This G+2 structure follows the very innovative and practical example of courtyard planning with a void in the centre allowing light and visual connection. The central court allows space for solace for people coming together.

The basement houses workshop areas, auditorium, deck and prayer area. The lower ground floor has therapy rooms along with classrooms while the upper ground floor and 1st 2nd floor follow the same planning which includes classrooms and lav.blocks with added terraces at the rear. The ground floor has 4 entrances with 2 ramps leading to basement.

Breaking the monotonous line work, the front classrooms are rotated at an angle of 45 and stacked adjacently providing an interesting play of masses, solid and voids and light and shadows. The central curved terrace controls the dominating masses, as if pulling the two ends together, enhanced by creepers. The half hipped roof not only provides the necessary shade but also compliments the triangular geometry, following the same language.
